Walks & Treks in Jordan Itinerary

Day 1: QAI Airport – Amman Overnight. (L,D).
picture of ammanYou'll arrive at Queen Alia International Airport. We'll meet you at the arrivals gate and transfer you to the hotel in Amman, where you'll stay for one night. Dinner will be at the hotel.





Day 2: Amman - Wadi Zarqa Ma’in - Dana Hotel Overnight (B,L,D).
The day starts early with breakfast at your hotel in Amman. We'll then travel to Wadi Zarqa Ma’in. This is proceeded by a walk to the hot springs of Callirhoe. This valley provides an easy walk, with the last 4km trekking to Ma’in Spa, where 4 wheel drive vehicles will be waiting to transfer us via the Dead Sea. We'll spend just under an hour exploring the weightlessness of the beautiful water before proceeding onwards to Dana Hotel. This lovely hotel was built by Bedouins in their own style, and is located in Dana village which is 400 years old. We'll have a traditional Bedouin dinner, and stay for one night.
Day 3: Wadi Dana - Fainan - Wadi Ghwier Overnight (B,L,D).
After breakfast we start with an early and easy walk from Dana village to Dana Natural Reserve in Wadi Dana. This lovely reserve is a system of Wadis and mountains that extends from the upper edge of the Rift Valley down to the desert lowlands of Wadi Araba. We'll meet traditional Bedouins and have tea at their tents, followed by a walk to Wadi Fainan, which is the beginning of Araba desert. Our 4 wheel drives vehicles will be waiting for us to allow a quick transfer to Wadi Ghweir. We'll make our campsite near the spectacular waterfalls and between the wonderful cliffs surrounding the Ghweir area. Our cooks will then prepare oriental dishes for dinner. (B,L,D)
Day 4: Wadi Ghweir - Wadi Araba - Wadi Namala - Petra Overnight (B,L,D).
After breakfast at our campsite in Wadi Ghweir, we'll drive by Jeep via Wadi Araba Desert taking 45 minutes, followed by off-road ascent via Wadi Namala. This is the only way from Wadi Araba to Little Petra - taking 1 hour, and driving over the Beida Mountains, and providing you with magical views. After checking into your hotel in Wadi Musa you'll have free time in the afternoon to go shopping and explore around in the souvenir market. Dinner is provided at the hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 5: Petra - Wadi Rum Overnight (B,L,D).
picture of petraAfter breakfast our tour guide will escort you to the main sites of Petra. Walking into Petra through the world-famous Siq – the dramatic chasm splitting the mountains – provides what must be the most remarkable entrance to any city. It is a unique and unforgettable experience. In the evening we'll transfer you via the King's High way to Wadi Rum. Transfer by jeep to the Bedouin campsite in the middle of the desert at the sunset site. We'll have an underground BBQ, accompanied by the music of a Bedouin singer (lute and drum). We'll spend the night at the campsite.




Day 6: Wadi Rum - Amman (B,L,D).
picture of wadi rumBreakfast followed by preparation for walking in the desert of Wadi Rum - one of the world's most colourful and unique landscapes of desert and mountain scenery which has long been inhabited by man. Rock carvings mark the passage of ancient tribes from thousands of years ago. Thamudic inscriptions, burial mounds, ancient megaliths and ruined buildings abound and Nabataean rock carved stairways, dams and temples are still to be found throughout the area. Wadi Rum is also known as Moon valley because it is similar to the surface of the moon. In the evening we'll travel back to Amman via the Desert High way. Dinner will be provided at the previous hotel.
Day 7: Amman - Airport (B,L).
picture of ammanDepending on your flight time we'll visit downtown Amman, go shopping in the old Souq, or tour the city. We'll then take you to the airport for your departure.






Three Optional Days:

Day 08: Transfer from Wadi Rum to Aqaba, Red Sea, relax, swimming

Day 09: Free day at the beach at the Red Sea, swimming, snorkelling, diving

Day 10: Transfer from Aqaba to Queen Alia Airport, departure.

Optional: Dinner in Petra at Bedouin cave in candle light, with Bedouin folklore (lute and drum)
